Ein ca. 150 km langer Höhenzug mit einer uralten Geschichtsschreibung bizarren Gesteinsformationen und mystischen Wäldern und Flusstälern. Seit Urzeiten regt der Teutoburger Wald die Phantasie der Menschen an. Phantasien, die ich auf meinen zahlreichen Wanderungen mit der Fotokamera eingefangen habe. Das kleine Flüsschen “<span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_3">Exter</span>”, die bei <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_4">Rinteln</span> in die Weser mündet, gab dieser Region Ihren Namen. Das Gestein des <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_5">nordlippischen</span> Berglandes, besteht aus Sandstein und <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_6">Quarzit</span>, dem harten <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_7">Rhät</span>. Die Landschaft wurde von den Gletschern der Eiszeit geformt. Typisch sind die <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_8">extertaler</span> Findlinge. Meine Wanderung führt mich ins <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_9">nordlippische</span> Bergland mit seinen zahlreichen Bächen und vier kleinen Wasserfällen. Der größte ist der <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_10">Rickbach</span> Wasserfall bei <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_11">Bremke</span>. Er ist 4 m hoch und bietet nach reichhaltigen Regen oder der Schneeschmelze eine durchaus imposante Vorstellung. Die Zwillingskuppen Preußische und Lippischen Velmerstot sind die höchsten Erhebungen des Eggegebirges. Nach dem Köterberg die zweithöchste Erhebung im Kreis Lippe. Der ehemalige Grenzverlauf zwischen den Bergkuppen (Fürstentum Lippe und Preußen) gab der Velmerstot ihren Namen. Schroffe Sandsteinfelsen, ausgedehnte Buchenwälder und Bergheidevegetation prägen diese Landschaft. Mein besonders Interesse gilt dem „Silberort“ einen kleinen Naturschutzgebiet.
